Capture the Color
I’ve been nominated by a couple of great bloggers C’est Christine and The Young Adventuress to take part in a competition organized by Travel Supermarket. This competition requires each blogger to submit travel photos that capture different colors to be judged by some super-talented travel photographers. The winner of each category will win an iPad3 and a grand-prize winner will also win 2,000 British pounds!
In Versailles, the manicured lawns and elaborate palaces tend to steal the show, but I was drawn to the simpler parts of Marie Antoinette’s playground. I snapped this on a cloudy and rainy July afternoon, but after hours of wandering the grounds, the sun started to peek through the treetops.
The white-washed Greek isles are blinding in the summer, and on Santorini in particular, contrast greatly to the azure Aegean that surrounds it. This was taken during my first trip to the isle, a place I fell in love with, and would return to twice after.
I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to hike when this photo was taken in Algeciras, Spain: it was in January and a warm 65 degrees. I stopped here to rest and take in the beauty before me. The water gave off a reddish color from the leaves that have been falling throughout the autumn before.
This is called Little Venice on the island of Mykonos in Greece. Greece always reminds me of the colors of its flag, blue and white, for the white-washed houses, blue-domed churches, and often blue-hued doors and shutters.
Inside the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, the church glowed almost as brightly yellow inside as it does from the outside.

Since I’m in a bit of a chocolate-induced food coma, I’ll let my photos do the talking. Here are the promised pictures of my hike from this past weekend in El Rio de la Miel, or Honey River.
Feliz Día de Los Enamorados!
P.S. Did you know the Spanish are considered the world’s most romantic nationality? Well, CNNGo seems to think so!
